This is the first version of a Backlink Check as applet. There are some problems with the (Yahoo) API it’s using, so results are limited to the first 100.
Update: I took it offline. It doesn’t make much sense as long Yahoo doesn’t fix their API.
Update: Apparently they aren’t even interested in improving:

That is funny. I wanted to write a program that was looked at Yahoo backlinks, but apparently I won’t be doing that any time soon.

I use a script that scrapes yahoo for the count of backlinks to a url. I took a brief look at the yahoo api. Is there any benefit to using the api? Especially if they seem to break it often.

@mjulson: Scraping them is against their TOS I think, I have heard they ban IPs from time to time.

My BackLink Partner Directory has had a heck of a time getting consistent feedback via our Yahoo Backlink Checker. I think we have it nailed down now though.

I’ve used a variety of backlink checkers. Seem to get quite varied results.
Which one do I trust?
Obviously the one that shows the most is what i’d love to trust but just need omething that’s tried and tested.

@Jason: There is no definite reliable source, the more you use the better. I’d go for yahoo to simplify things though.

Ok thanks, i’ll take a look.
I’ve also been using Google Toolbar in conjunction with my other checks.

@Jason: I deleted your comment because the tool is pretty much … It doesn’t show anything useful.

I’ve just been using SEO Quake, it seems to be good enough!

SEO Quake seems ok. Looks like you have to really customise it though to get the best out of it.
I didn’t get many results/feedback with the default settings.
