Yes, another one. Just finished it. Will beta-test it on this site. Wordpress themes are some good Sunday afternoon entertainment.

Well, pretty well finished tweaking - however, I’ve moved it into a TextPattern
build for the extra pages plus WordPress doesn’t like being edited in the browser by my host TextDrive. Anyway thanks for all the fish

I’ve never used TextPattern so I can’t really say you’d be much better off with wordpress … Anyway I wish you good luck, and I’m pretty sure we will meet again

Hi,
Nice theme, I use it for my new personnal blog (http://www.presse-citron.net/antiblog/) but I have a issue with images display, it only displays on the full article, when I click on the permalink, not in the posts on the homepage.
How can I make it display on the homepage ?

Hi Eric, this is because it displays excerpts on the homepage by default. To change this, edit zero/index.php. Comment out the call to the_excerpt() (like the linke above) and comment in the line above with the call to the_content().

I’ve been subtracting from Zero.
Love it.
Am wondering how — if I drop the header graphic — can I remove about half the vertical space it takes up? I can’t find where that space is defined.
If you look at the example index page and single post I’ve put up, you’ll see the extra space I’m hoping to trim just a bit.

I guess the “vertical space” you refer to is the header div, which actually contains a h1 and another div for the description, which are both empty in your case. If you remove the header div from your template the space should be gone.

I awoke this morning knowing that. And you just confirmed it. So I’m going to play with that div. Actually I awoke with the idea that I should just change, on the stylesheet, the typesize for the header (which, as you pointed out, I’m not using).
Maybe eliminating the header call altogether as you suggest and just putting a bit of margin or padding there would be more elegant.
Will keep playing. I know what I’m doing is going to look quite a bit different from the beautiful, airy, open design you created. But my hackjob is going to meet my objective wonderfully, I think.
So grateful for your work and help.

I’m just working on a new one, started with a totally different spin (2-columns) and ended with a single column layout like this one. Will post it here once it’s published.

Just put them into the images folder and link them from your theme like “<?php bloginfo(’stylesheet_directory’); ?>/images/yourimage.jpg?>”.

I’m actually linking to an image from another site. The image shows up in other themes. I’ve checked the CSS and other files but could find nothing disallowing images from being shown.

So you’re using an img with src=”http://example.com/image.jpg” and it doesn’t show? That’s strange. I’m using some (internal) images myself, so I have nothing in place against them in the CSS.

what’s weird is that the images shows up in the visual editor…

The image delivers something in the header that makes my firefox want to download it instead of viewing it. I think that’s the problem. Just tested it locally on Zero and another theme, both just yield the ALT.

Maybe blogger doesn’t want its images to be inlined by others and checks for the referer …

I thought that too, that they didn’t allow hotlinking - but I linked to an image off of my personal site:
img src=”http://aesthetist.org/images/sdk2007/1.jpg” alt=”SDK” /
and it doesn’t show up either. It does however (like the other image) show up when editing the post in the visual editor.
Something in the code is disabling the images from being displayed.
Just can’t pinpoint it yet.

figured something out.
If I click on “View Page” while editing it, the images shows up. Actually it’s using “?p=3″ - I’m not sure why the post doesn’t update on the main page…

Aah, I think I know what your problem is. I think the default in Zero is to show the excerpt, not the whole post. So no images … You can change that easily in index.php. I just commented it out.

One of my favourite themes to date. Excellent work and it’s a pleasure to use your template! Have added code highlighting and will probably implement a basic tagcloud in the same general format as the blogroll, but it’s fantastically clean and legible.

I love this theme, it’s probably one of the better ones I’ve ever used simply because of its simplicity.
I am using a modified version on my site at http://www.explosionofogle.com, and I would love to collaborate with you to release my modified version (pending your approval) as a Zero ver. 2. I did get your last email, but I didn’t see any steadfast contact info.
Anywho, I would love to work with you on a version 2–I can do page layout, colors, typefaces, etc. (design stuff) and you can work on any code revisions that need doing. I only have a precursory knowledge of how php and the wordpress platform works, so I was hoping that you could take care of that end of it.
Anyway, I’ll try to let you know when I get all the major bugs worked out of my design, and you can take a look at it then.

Love the theme and decided to use it to archive my articles. Couple of questions. How can I show only the article title on main page and put a graphic bullet before the title names?
I am trying to remove the content from showing under the article title on the main page.

@Darell: Comment out / play with the_excerpt() or the_content() in index.php and other files where it occurs. This is also the place for your image.

Well a year has gone by and I’ve moved to WordPress - checking my article links I saw you’d moved - so thought I’d just pop-in and say Hi.
