If you just want to use a plugin that enables you to insert META keywords into wordpress, Another Wordpress Meta Plugin could be the solution for you.
What’s the benefit of META keywords?
The short answer is “No, but …”
Modern search engines (SEs) don’t care about your meta keywords. If they did, you’d just stuff everything and the kitchen sink in there. That’s easy.
But … META keywords are used by SEs to discriminate pages. That is if you have two pages A and B that have similar content (at least from the crawler’s point of view) different META keywords could help the search engine to hold them apart as two distinctive pages. On the other hand, two pages with exactly the same META description AND keywords that are otherwise different could be the cause for trouble.
The real benefit comes when you can use your META keywords for Technorati-style tags (as supported by Another Wordpress Meta Plugin), this can bring some real traffic. And in most cases it will indirectly increase the “rankability” of your pages because if you think about your main keywords you will focus more on them, helping you to create better content.
