Have you ever noticed that most templates stuff your single post title with ‘Blog Archive’ or even your blog name? I was sick of having to edit my templates and wanted something automatic. Something to just install and work out of the box which would give me the natural title of the post and nothing else.
You don’t have to edit anything!
Update:
There is now an option to append the blogname after your title (disabled by default). You can set this option in your admin panel under Options/Another Title.
Download: another_title.phps
Installation:
Just save the .phps as .php in your plugin folder (wp-content/plugins) and activate it. Then look at one or two post titles and see that in your browsers’s title bar only the post title is shown, no ‘Blog Archive’ or similar.

Nice!
Would it be possbile to add an option for the blog title after the post title - kind of like optimal title - but in a plug in that works?

Thanks for your feedback David, it’s now possible with 1.1

Hi, I have installed this plugin, it worked perfectly, but when I got the new plugin, (the one before doesn’t have options right?) it doesn’t work anymore… What have I done wrong? I’ve used it at http://www.lastleaf.org and http://www.tech-hive.com

Hello, i installed the plugin, but if i activate it, all pages of the blog were gone. The site is totaly white - nothing to see, nothing to click on.. Do you have any idea? There is no other plugin activated, yust yours.. thx

You probably have gzip enabled. The workaround is to disable this or use All in One SEO Pack which offers title rewrite too and can handle gzipped content.

I have patched it, so it should now handle gzip gracefully.

In most WP skins to change title suffice change only code in header.php
For example:
from: » Blog Archive »
to:
Or something else. It can be used also without bloginfo(’name’)

True, but this is manual work. And if you change themes you’ve got to to it again.

First, thanks for you hard work on this plugin. I have a question though. Do we have to remove the empty meta tag for Keyword and Description. I still seee them there.
and the new keyword and description tag.
thanks.

I also change title manually in header.php
December 27th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
The plugin is not avalible for downloads anymore
December 28th, 2007 at 7:48 am
I recommend using All in One SEO Pack instead.

exactly “Blog title 25th:month:year” doesn’t look encourage:) and particularly if the date is old
