So you’re having ads on your blog?
Then you are probably modifying your template to integrate them. I’ve been doing this of course. But then I realized that the ads either come before your content, or after your content, or in your sidebar. But never directly mixed with the content.
So I created AdMan. You just setup your ad code (in your adman panel Options/Adman). AdSense works just fine. There are two ad-codes to enter here. The first will appear right before your post content. For the second, AdMan will make sure that this ad code will appear in the middle of your posts, without disturbing your post layout. It will look for the end of tags and determine the best place. Just experiment with it. Put your ad code in differently styled divs.
But the best thing is: If you don’t want to rely on AdMan’s “intelligence” you can specify in your post where the ads should appear. Just use the comment
<!-- adman -->
exactly as written here in your post, and AdMan will replace every occurrence of it with your specified ad.
Download: AdMan (latest version)
Installation: Just download the above link and unzip it in your wp-content/plugins. Don’t forget to visit Options/Adman in your admin panel. That’s it!

That would be awesome.

I like this plug-in. Would be nice to have an option to display the ad after the first post’s content on the homepage only. Thanks for the plug-in.

I’m using adman on several sites and it does well for the ads at the start and end of posts. How can I get the to have the ad wrap around the text? As is, the ad just shows up in the middle of the post; I would LOVE for it to show up in the middle of the post but wrapped with the content.

Hi,
I have one question only.
I don’t wanna put my adsense in the given fields to put adsense code, rather I wanna put my adsense code in an external file. I tried to make a .js, .php, and .html file putting my adsense code and refer it to those Adman’s adsense code fields but ads are not appreaing.
Could you plz help me in this problem, coz I wanna keep my adsense code dynamic that I could change it any time without going to my each website or Adman plugin page to change.
Great thanks for this plugin in advance.

April 6th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Ashish, When you first use Adman, it takes Google a while to “learn” your web-site hit traffic.
Often times, blank content will come back for several hours. Then, suddently, they will all
appear with appropriate context sensitive ads with your changing nothing.
I’d give it a few hours / up to a day before spending too much time on “fixing” a potentially
non existent problem on your end.
Might be useful to say this in the Adman doc / readme. I see a similar question / experience often
on the adman posts.

Thanks for this great script.
Could you also provide an option for enabling/disabling the insertion at the calculated middle of the post? Ionly want to include the advt only when the adman tag is specified. Otherwise I want to leave it without any ads in the center. How can I do that, without editing the code?
Thanks.

I want to put the ad in a post, on the frontpage view of it, and at the bottom of the post, just before the jump.
The custom placement tag will only show it on the permalink page, not the frontpage. Is there a way to get around this and put the ad on the frontpage, in the post, but at the bottom of the viewable part on the homepage? Thanks.

This is my favorite plug-in,
but are there any plans to be compatible with Wordpress 2.5 ?

April 28th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
This is my favorite plugin. There is an issue with it that I hope you can update. I used adman to place my adsense blocks under the title before the content which placed it above the fold which was great for a high clickthrough rate. However, this is now against the adsense tos. Read their blog post about it here:
http://adsense.blogspot.com/search/label/Optimization
It would be great if you could code the plugin to place the input code (adsense, yahoo or whatever code one chooses) under the first 2 sentences as then it would compliant with the new adsense tos.
Also, are you planning on making it compatible with wordpress 2.5?
If you do make these changes I promise to be the first to make a donation as I have come to really love this plugin. It’s hands down the best and most useful plugin for placing code in a wordpress blog.

The ads sometimes “run into” my photos which then ruins the page format. Is there a way to tell the “adman” to avoid img files?
